Albert Bermel

Bermel’s short play The Workout (1963) was a hit at The Questors Theatre in Ealing in their festival of new works. He translated many plays from French and German, and is perhaps best well known for his book, Artaud’s Theatre of Cruelty published in 1977 as a commentary on Artaud’s practice.
