Synopsis

“Chicken Soup with Barley” is the first play in  the”Wesker Trilogy.”

Sarah Kahn, a strong-willed Jewish matriarch in 1930s East End London. Her unwavering commitment to socialism and political activism shapes her family’s life as they serve soup and discuss social justice. The play explores the clash between personal ideals and political realities, set against the backdrop of rising fascism and World War II, with Sarah as a symbol of resilience and determination.
