Synopsis
An R.A.F base in post-war Britain
A group of young RAF conscripts from different class backgrounds are trained and wait to be assigned their postings. Privately educated Pip refuses to apply to become an Officer as would be expected from someone of his background.
“Chips with Everything” sharply dissects the British class system, showcasing its pervasive grip on young men’s lives and roles within the Air Force. The play also casts a light on the post-war National Service and conscription, vividly portraying the experiences of young men who, as strangers, are abruptly melded into a stringent military regime.

What our readers said
What’s it like reading this play now?
It feels of its time, particularly the ways of speaking and turns of phrase. But the idea of rebelling against engrained social expectations remains universal.
