Synopsis
A provincial zoo in England and then, a colonial house in Mauritius
This short play centres around two brothers who have reunited for their father’s funeral. Their father was a owner of a failing zoo in London. One brother is the zoo’s vet, the other is an animal conservationist who will shortly be on his way to Mauritius to repopulate a soon-extinct rare bird.
A short, searing, hilarious commentary on colonialism.
