Synopsis

Ollie sits on the edge of a bench, lost in his thoughts by the sea.

He encounters various characters including a Father and a Boy, each bringing their own stories and struggles. The play is set against the backdrop of the sea, which sings a melancholic song throughout, reflecting the characters’ emotions and the play’s themes of loss, longing, and the search for identity.

As the narrative unfolds, Ollie’s interactions with these characters reveal their complex backgrounds and the hardships they face. The Father, grappling with his own past, and the Boy, full of dreams and innocence, contrast sharply with Ollie’s own internal turmoil. The play delves into the essence of human connection and disconnection, weaving a tapestry of stories that are both personal and universal.

“Through Water and Stars” is a poignant exploration of the human condition, touching on themes of migration, family, and the relentless pursuit of a better life. It’s a story that resonates deeply in today’s world, highlighting the shared experiences and struggles that bind us all.
